Birds are fascinating!  They captivate our imaginations and often leave us in a state of awe while watching them.

Did you admire birds overhead and imagine flying alongside them when you were a kid? Even as adults taking time to birdwatch, we can temporarily escape stresses in the day.

Birds are nature’s symbols of freedom. After all, what freedom flying would be, to soar high and travel distances as the bird flies - without the need to weave around landscape, waterways and manmade structures.

Birds are symbols in our every day. They symbolize human character traits … ‘proud as a peacock’ … ‘noble like an eagle’ … Gliding swans are an image of grace and elegance. A dove is the symbol of peace.

Birds are works of art! Yet, did you know bright colored birds are often male? Yes, birds are beautiful, but their beauty is not confined to their outward appearance. Birds fill the air with music too.

The sanctuaries birds build from a simple collection of twigs to an intricately woven masterpiece means their nest-building skills are industrious marvels. With their patience and devotion, and attentive care to their offspring, could birds be a role model for us?

Each of us may admire birds for different reasons, but their appeal is indisputable. So, why is this email for the birds? February is National Bird Feeding Month, a month to celebrate wild bird watching and feeding.

Curtis do you admire the birds in your backyard?
