Some of us like to start with a blank white room when designing and decorating. Adding furnishings and accessories give the environment splashes of the different colors we love.
Others of us prefer only a specific, small range of colors from the endless spectrum to be in our rooms. There are also individuals who love all colors and want to see every color under the stars surrounding them.
When looking at the color trends in 2017, it looks like they are a reflection of the natural world surrounding us.
There are sky tones of blue-white, powdery blue. and yellow like the inner and outer edges of the sun.
Then there are earthy tones like blue-green, courtyard green, mushroom or taupe, stone white, and shadow gray.
You can see all of those colors and more within the décor of rooms here orhere.
We are here to serve you all year round and, if you or someone you know is planning home renovations and redecorating that includes new floors and more, be sure to stop in and see us. We love helping you create the environment you love to be in.

P.S. You might ask, what does this book have to do with Flooring? Not much really, but if you are a small business owner, entrepreneur, or have aspirations of becoming one, then you really must check this book out. I’ve learned a ton from the author, and this is a great read! Worth every penny, so I thought I should share!
Preparing for the long weekend, whether going to see family; going camping, or just getting away during the upcoming long weekend, many people will be traveling. To get the most joy from your plans, here are some tips.
Avoid traffic frustrations
Consider leaving earlier or later than the masses that commonly travel right at the end of a school or workday.
Realize, with so many people traveling at the same time, that it will take you longer to get to your final destination.
Use a navigation app that includes current traffic volume – Waze is a good one!
Consider taking an alternate route with less traffic.
Whenever possible, keep up-to-date on traffic reports along your journey to avoid concerns that extend travel time. Having an alternate route helps get around road concerns like construction or accidents.
When planning your trip and time, remember to include rest stop time.
Be prepared with water, nutrition, and emergency essentials in the car in case they’re needed.
Wherever you are this long weekend, we hope you gain treasured memories and have safe journeys.

Walking into a room – maybe it's that sweet vacation spot – you feel an "Aaah!" sensation. There's no clutter, no stress... only thoughts of relaxing away from the everyday.
Our home environment impacts our mood, behavior, stress, and relaxation levels. Imagine walking into a hotel room. It's free of clutter, beds made, no dust, vacuuming is done... it's fresh!
Now imagine the same room, towels on the bathroom floor. Shower curtain half off the rod, dried toothpaste alongside a dripping sink … further into the room are disheveled beds, dirty clothes strewn all over the floor and over the backs of chairs, snack and food wrappers, empty containers with dried food remnants are everywhere, and condiment stains are across the desk with old newspapers and other bits.
Did your internal feelings negatively shift with the second description? There is a different type of energy when arriving in fresh, clean space!
If you want to elevate calm and relaxation in your home, consider these tips.
If it wasn’t for moms and those who had a motherly role in our lives, we each would not be who we are today. No matter who that special person is to you or your children, May 14th is their day.
Moms, many who are responsible for preparing and cooking family meals at home, enjoy dining out for brunch or dinner on Mother’s Day. Gathering around the table with loved ones in a restaurant gives them a well-deserved break to relish in quality time with loved ones without concern for the meal. This explains why Mother’s Day is one of the busiest days of the year in restaurants across North America. If you’re going to treat Mom to a meal out, I’d recommend making a reservation where that option is possible.
Mom’s often put themselves on the back burner, which means what they want and enjoy is ignored for the wants and needs of their family.
The most popular gifts include flowers, perfume, chocolate, candles, home DIY spa products, home décor items, or gift baskets. There are endless ways we can honor our mothers. However, if you know that your mom has not permitted herself to get what she wants, consider giving it to her. Does she have special interests?
If she likes writing, whether in a diary or journal, consider a special notebook that she can fill.
If she is artistic or crafty, consider a gift certificate to her favorite supply store (i.e., paints, brushes, fabrics, etc.).
If she enjoys reading, check to see if her favorite writer has a new book on the pre-order or new release list.
If she needs pampering, consider a shiatsu treatment, massage, or spa treatment.
The best part of what you give your mom comes from the heart.
Consider giving what is special to her and not connected to things for the house or fulfilling her role of taking care of family. Make your gift about her interests and what gives her the most pleasure and satisfaction. After all, we wouldn’t be the people we’ve become without that person who fulfilled the motherly role in our lives.
