Morning People Vs. Night People | E-Neighborhood Advisor

You may know this old joke. There are three kinds of people in the world: those who can count and those who can’t.

But you can definitely separate us all into two categories: morning people and night people.

Morning people jump out of bed at the (relative) crack of dawn, wake up quickly and have their most productive hours in the first half of the day.

Night people think getting up before noon is ridiculous, gradually pick up pace as the day passes and reach their peak in the evening.

Invariably, these two types clash with each other. Night people can’t understand how morning people can be so cheerful at such a ghastly hour. Morning people think night people are so grumpy because they stay up too late.

Usually families are composed of both types; the same is true with companies. Office managers, you might find it worthwhile to divide your team into these two groups and let them work the appropriate hours….productivity could soar!

But if you think about it, there must be a reason for the division of us humans into day people and night people. In more dangerous times, it would have made sense to have some of us alert at all hours of the day or night.

So don’t scoff at people of the opposite type: some day they may have your back!

P.S. Here's a joke for you!
I never thought I’d be the type of person to wake up at 5 in the morning to exercise.
I was right.
