Tile Ideas for Your Home at Capell Flooring and Interiors

When you think about designing tile for your kitchen or bath do your eyes glaze over as you feel a headache coming on?

With all the new and beautiful tile options out there now-a-days, we can understand your stress in putting it all together.

Designing the tile for your kitchen or bathroom doesn’t have to be a daunting task. Start by taking the color of your walls (and any accent colors you might have selected).  Use this color as the base color

when selecting your tiles. The colors need not be exact, but in the same color family. In other words, if your wall color is a gray/brown, your tiles shouldn't be a gray/blue, they should carry the same warm brown tones and grey tones that are complimentary with your wall color.

Don’t be afraid to think outside the box and get creative with glass tiles, “wood” tiles and tiles that come in different shapes and sizes. Creating the design can be a lot of fun! A good way to start working your tile design is to lay it out on graph paper. Sketch out different designs that you like and play with the patterns. Take advantage of key areas like behind the cook top in your kitchen, or create boxes inside your walk in shower where you can set shampoo and conditioner. Use fun accent tiles in these areas to spice them up!

Have fun with it and don’t forget at Capell Flooring and Interiors we are always here to brainstorm and sketch with you! Make an appointment with our in house designer today!
