Are you traveling this long weekend?

Preparing for the long weekend, whether going to see family; going camping, or just getting away during the upcoming long weekend, many people will be traveling. To get the most joy from your plans, here are some tips.

Avoid traffic frustrations
  • Consider leaving earlier or later than the masses that commonly travel right at the end of a school or workday.
  • Realize, with so many people traveling at the same time, that it will take you longer to get to your final destination.
  • Use a navigation app that includes current traffic volume – Waze is a good one!
  • Consider taking an alternate route with less traffic.
  • Whenever possible, keep up-to-date on traffic reports along your journey to avoid concerns that extend travel time. Having an alternate route helps get around road concerns like construction or accidents.
  • When planning your trip and time, remember to include rest stop time.
  • Be prepared with water, nutrition, and emergency essentials in the car in case they’re needed.

Wherever you are this long weekend, we hope you gain treasured memories and have safe journeys.
