Happy New Year!

I hope you had a great New Year's Eve.

Are you a resolution setter? Many people partake in this New Year tradition, but after a few weeks that nagging doubt of success starts to become reality. Have you been there, that place where you think, “Just like last year, I’ll slip back into old ways?”

Achieving the result goes beyond wishing and hoping. Results require intention, which can be created for any area of life - health, appearance, employment, finance, relationships … anything!

Being specific with any intention you create makes it a powerful tool to whittle your actions toward success. Follow these simple steps and watch your success start happening.

First, identify your intentions and write them down in present tense using positive language … "I intend to be healthy and fit," or "I intend to create a fun relationship with my sister." Notice that intentions are expressed as values and qualities of life. Even if you know what you want, but aren't sure how to get there, write your intention down.

Next, you must have a strategy, which involves determining the specific people, actions, and times required to achieve your desired result. When you create an intention, specific strategies may come to mind and if so, write them down. If not, they will come to you over time, which is why you want to at least get the intention down.

Third, read your intentions and strategies every single day. Focusing on those intentions will set things in motion and open up new opportunities that cause them happen. If your intention is to lose a few pounds, you'll start to see them lost, because repeated exposure to that intention causes your thoughts and behaviors to align with it.

Spending a few minutes every day focusing on, and reading your intentions out loud means they are more likely to happen. The more often you expose yourself to your intentions, the more powerful they become.

An added tip - watch where you allow your focus to go, because where you focus your attention grows and becomes your reality.
