Did you know this works in the kitchen?

There are tips all over the internet for every topic. Some are strange and others are ‘must use’. Here are some of the must-use tips in the kitchen.

Easy Egg Separation
Separate the yolk of an egg from the white by using an empty plastic water bottle.  Squeeze the sides of the bottle, then place the mouth gently on the yolk. Release the sides and watch the yolk get sucked inside the bottle.

Keeping Water in the Pot

To prevent the water from boiling over the top of the pot while cooking pasta or any other food, place a wooden spoon across the top.

Perfectly Cooked, Easy-to-Peel Eggs
Instead of boiling eggs the next time you want hard-boiled eggs, try steaming them for 20 minutes and cooling them down quickly. This technique makes them easy to peel with an ideal yolk texture.

Peeling Garlic Cloves Fast and Hands-Free
The next time you want to peel garlic, place the bulb or cloves inside a lidded jar and shake it like a madman for 20-30 seconds.

There are so many more tips. If there is something you wish was easier, type it in the Google or YouTube search bar and see what comes up. You may find a solution that makes things quicker and easier.

Expert Secrets - Must Read Book!

Hi Friends and readers,

You might ask your self this question, what does this book have to do with flooring?  To be honest with you, nothing really, but sometimes when something comes up that is too good to not blog about, I will tackle it here, and give a shout out.  If you don't know Russell Brunson, he lives here in the Treasure Valley and his company Clickfunnels has done a lot of amazing things for people that want to have successful online businesses or help get more business for your brick and mortar business through online means.  Which of course is my case with my store Capell Flooring.  His first book, Dotcom Secrets taught me a ton, and I thought I would let my readers know about his new book since it is a great opportunity to learn from a master of marketing and business.

I have learned a ton from him, and highly recommend you picking up one of his new books called, "Expert Secrets," if you are an entrepreneur or have any desire to become an entrepreneur down the road.  Russell has a way to bring things to light in a way that is not only easy to understand, but he builds on things in a way that will help you on entrepreneurial journey.  It comes out this afternoon, and his last book launch sold out immediately.  You just have to pay the cost of shipping and handling, but it is worth every penny and then some.  So don't delay, I can't wait to get my hands on a copy!

Sincerely,

Matt Capell - owner Capell Flooring & Click Funnels Fan :)

Your Money Can Be Where You Need it Most

Money is one thing in life that can stir up a love / hate relationship.  We want to save it for special things like a vacation and we hate it when unexpected expenses creep up, or when there isn’t enough of it.

Aside from doing 100 small things to save money, a little planning can make money go a long way. Below are key areas to consider.

Recurring Home Expenses like the mortgage, utilities, lawncare, trash collection, phone, internet, taxes, and other home property fees are part of the regular budget.

One of the most critical things to include in any budget, whether you are a home owner or not, is the Emergency Fund. That alone saves us from unexpected costs like medical bills or an income loss. In fact, it is recommended to save three to six months of monthly expense coverage.

You will also want a Home Maintenance Fund. This too can help with the unexpected costs like a plumbing repair. After all, as a home and the contents within it age, replacement and maintenance needs will arise. The appliances – washer, dryer, refrigerator, stove, etc. will wear out. Plus, the components that keep our home dry and comfortable, like the furnace and roof, will become too old over time to fulfill their purpose.

Look at this article filled with practical ways to estimate the budget for home maintenance.

Other primary categories to allocate in the budget include food, pets, education, clothing, medical, vacation, and be sure to include a little fun. If you are looking for budgeting ideas, here is a resource.

How to Extend the Life of Your Carpets

One of the biggest investments in your home is the carpet you choose. We know better than most the variety of options there are, and how important it is to you that they remain as fresh as they were on the day of installation.

Here are three tips to help:

1.
Daily Vacuuming

Though this may sound extreme, the sooner you collect what lands on the surface of your carpet, the less opportunity it has of becoming soiled and worn by dirt working its way down through the fibers. It's best to use a vacuum with as wide a head as possible and with brush agitation.

2. Immediate Stain Reaction
Have a stain removal kit handy. In fact, stop by and ask us about ours!  Then, be sure to remove spills and stains as soon as possible to prevent permanent damage.

Know that all stains are not the same. Here are some suggestions to address different types of stains. If you do encounter a stain that you are unsure how to remove, please contact us.

One important thing to remember, do not rub a stain - dab it to prevent spreading.

3. Professional Deep Cleaning
It is recommended to have carpets deep cleaned every one to two years. This extracts accumulated deep-down dirt and residue. When hiring a professional carpet cleaning company, be sure to learn what cleaning methods they use, the type of equipment and cleaners, and what past customers have said in reviews. We can also recommend a good carpet cleaning company to you.

Spring is an excellent time to freshen up your home, and we're here to help you in any way we can.
