Necessary Requirements and Planning for Your Vacation

Are you planning to travel out of the country on your next vacation? Preparing for more than where to stay and how to get there can save a lot of time and hassles.

Create a Master List.

Beginning with the Essentials. Note required vaccinations needed before
travel begins and schedule to get them done. List the necessities like passports, other essential documents, cash, cards, and traveler’s checks.

Nourishment and Medication are next. Write down the specific vitamins, medications, contact lenses, and glasses you’ll need. Add quick energy items like healthy snacks, protein supplements, granola bars, dried fruit, and glucose tablets.

List the First Aid requirements like anti-diarrheal and gas relief tablets, mild laxative, motion sickness medicine, allergy relief, bandages, mild pain reliever, and a thermometer.

Create a Suitcase list with clothes for the days, events and weather patterns you may encounter at your destination.

Capture the Technology needs like your camera, laptop, video camera, cell and include all batteries, chargers, headphones, cords and connectors. Be sure to check the required electrical connectors needed for your destination country because they may not be the same as North America.

Add Beauty and Hygiene items from antibacterial and cleansing wipes, creams, lotions, brushes, hair dryer, eyeglass and contact cleaners, soaps and shampoos, personal hygiene, razors, toothbrush, toothpaste, insect repellents, lip balm and sun protection, even a travel-sized detergent and stain remover.

Document Everything!

Capture digital photographs and lists, then print a copy to keep with youand store a copy on the cloud.
The following are suggested:
  • Photocopy of your passport. Be sure all numbers are clearly legible.
  • Photocopy of any other essential documents. Again, ensure legibility.
  • Photograph all luggage contents in case they get lost.
  • Create a master document that includes the items below. Consider leaving a copy of this with a key person at home.
    • Flight and seat numbers
    • Hotel name, address, room number, and contact numbers
    • Map and directions from the point of arrival to the hotel
    • Itinerary with time differences
    • Technology list with serial numbers of the items you’re taking
    • Reservations and addresses
    • Also, do not forget to add the address and contact information for the Embassy or Consulate office in the country where you will be staying.

The better prepared you are for your trip and the unexpected before leaving, the better you will enjoy your time away.

Even if you don't listen, how is your hearing?

To correct vision and sometimes slow vision loss, we go to the optometrist to get our eyes tested and if needed, we get corrective lenses. As we age, taking care of how well we see is more common than checking how well we can hear. Yet hearing loss affects far more than how well we hear.

Hearing loss is linked to negativity, stress, depression, loneliness, seclusion,
and it can impair motor skills, memory, and inhibit our ability to learn new things. Plus, it can occur at any time, not just with old age.

Sometimes hearing impairments can be caused by illness, genetics, and environmental impact such as long-term exposure to loud noise.

Common signs of hearing loss:

  • Continuously believing people are mumbling or not speaking clearly.
  • Difficulty understanding what others are saying on the phone or when there is background noise.
  • Often misunderstanding what others have said.
  • Regularly asking people to repeat themselves.
  • Hearing others often complain the TV or radio is too loud.
  • Continuous ringing or hissing sounds in the ears.
  • Minor social changes leading to withdrawing or avoiding conversations and interactions.

Hearing impairment can range from mild, moderate, severe, to profound with treatments varying per the diagnosis.

There are many undiagnosed hearing loss conditions and there are many untreatable cases of hearing loss. Whenever possible protect your ears from loud sounds. Hearing loss is most often permanent.

Getting a hearing test from an independent audiologist is recommended. In the meantime, there are apps that you can add to your phone to test hearing. Search for “hearing test” in the App Store or Google Play.

Russell Brunson's Marketing In Your Car Podcast......

Russell Brunson's Marketing In Your Car Podcast......

I thought this offer was too good to not mention to my fellow readers.  A lot of people ask me where I learned my marketing.  I have had a lot of good mentors like Dan Kennedy, Jim Armstrong, and Russell Brunson.  They have all brought a good combination of marketing skill and prowess to my repertoire which I appreciate immensely  That being said, when it comes to online marketing and how to bring online marketing to my store Capell Flooring and Interiors, Russell Brunson has been a key in teaching me.

I wanted to share with you one of my favorite podcasts for two reasons...

#1: If you've ever been in marketing or sales or if you're an entrepreneur or want to do a startup of your own, I'd love for you to subscribe to the podcast of my friend Russell Brunson.

Russell was seen on this season's of the show "The Profit." He helps startups and businesses to grow. Everyday he does a podcast for about 6 minutes during his commute to his office, talking about what they're doing in their company (which BTW went from startup to over 29,000 ACTIVE paying members in about 2 1/2 years - crazy...)

Anyway, I've got tons of gold from this podcast and I think you will too :-)

Click here to subscribe to his podcast on iTunes:

BUT... #2...

The other cool thing is that he actually pre-loaded the first 257 episodes of his podcast on an mp3 player that you can get for free.

(Well, you gotta cover $10 shipping and handling.) But I just got one and I'm waiting for it to show up. I thought you might want one as well.

Here's the link to get your free mp3 player:  Here it is again I really feel it is worth every penny and you will not be disappointed.

How a new year can mean fresh starts throughout your home

It's a new year and a superb time to give places and things around the home a fresh start, especially if you cannot remember when those items were last purchased.

Filters

Whether it's in a furnace, air filtration unit, water system, or a coffee brewing machine, start the new year with a new filter. Going forward, these can be changed on a regular schedule. No more guesswork.

Makeup

When was the last time you replaced powders, mascara, and creams? To protect your eyes and skin from bacteria that can grow on old makeup, consider starting new. It's also an excellent time to clean those makeup brushes.

Clean and Organize

Out with the old and in with the new. If there's clothing you didn't wear in 2015, or if there are boxes and spaces in your home that you haven't seen since 2014 or longer, now is a great time to donate to a nearby charity. What forgotten treasures will you find?

A tip to get these complete: Chart a plan of action over the coming weekends. It will be done before you know it!
